Grandma's Curtains?..

Espirit top: $1.00 from Salvation Army
Vintage skirt: $3.99 from Salvation Army
Olsenboye shoes: $12.99 from Plato's Closet

Total look: $16.98

This is a vintage skirt that I found from the Salvation Army a few weeks ago. I liked the cute novelty print on the skirt, but a friend of mine asked if the skirt was made from curtains..lol. I don't know if the skirt was made from grandma's curtains or not, but I still think that it is a cute 50's skirt. I will be putting this item up for sale on Ebay soon if you are interested in owning it!
I want to learn how to make my own 50's skirts soon! I have never sewn before, and I am always intimidated by it, but there are so many fun skirts I could be making. I am going to be saving to get the parts that I need for my sewing machine so that I can try to teach myself. I have some really cute 50's patterns that I found at an antique shop, now to make them!

  2. I love your skirt! It's so pretty. I wish I could make curtains out of that skirt.

You got some great thrift prices at Salvation Army. The Salvation Army by me is really expensive :(

  5. Now I am a thrift shopper, true. But I am not into Vintage stuff. I think it is because I lived it. Once I visited my Aunt while she lived in San Diego. I told her about Knotts Berry Farm having an old village in it and how cleaver and authentic it was. She just claimed, "Oh I will never go see that stuff, because it isn't fun. That is how I lived years ago!" I think that is how I am with vintage stuff. I want today's styles and more and more of them, for a song, of course. You do your vintage and I'll do the cool stuff, your generation has. LOL Am I silly? Maybe. Do I care? Nope. We all have our various interests and various tastes and various style. That is what is so cool about you! That is what is cool about blogs.
