Just A Preppy School Girl Needing To Be More Thankful..

Hello everyone. I put this fun outfit together when I went out to lunch with the kids. I loved mixing the gold, gingham, and red together. It was nice and comfortable for a day out. I have been thinking about things that I am thankful for this week, since it is nearing Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my kids..let me add even though there are days that I want to pull the remaining hair out. I am thankful for my sight, touch, mind, memories etc..that not everyone has. I am thankful for the brief moments that love is around and comforting. I am thankful for the laughter, fun, and new fun feelings that come and go. I am thankful for what I do have, because it is better then having nothing at all. I have spent a lot of my time wondering why I am not married..why don't I have a "tittle"..why don't I make more money and the only answer that I can come up with is that I need to not be so focused on the things that I don't have..and to be thankful for what I do have. I am thankful for everyday that I wakeup and get another chance at life...maybe one day I will figure it out..

  1. Heather! hi!

I have nearly exactly those same articles of clothing and I have NEVER thought in a million years of putting them together. I don't have any white beads like yours but I have red heels, skinny denims with a cuff, a blue chambray shirt (not gingham but close) and a mustard knit top. duh. I am going to put them together tomorrow and see how I look. thanks.

I was a single mom for 12 years off and on (been divorced and widowed) and I learned something about myself. I needed to be the person I wanted to be with. Does that make sense? I've been married for 12.5 years currently and my husband is the person I am. Ponder it. Strange concept but very true.

I love your style sense, girl! (applause)

  2. That is a beautiful and inspiring post! It is so true, we should all think about what we have instead of what we don't. Enjoy the gifts you have been given in life, don't ever take anything for granted. And of course dream about the things that you want... just don't let your happiness depend on them. We (in general) should all be more thankfull :) thank you for reminding us.

  10. I am right there with you that I need to focus on being more thankful for the things I have and think less about the things I don't. So, thanks for reminding me of that today! I really really like this look. You put together pieces that are pretty basic but in a fun way. Thanks for linking up for Real Girl Style!
