80's Tastic!...And Female Pattern Hair-loss...

Hello everyone. Glad to see you all stop by today. I found this cute little 80's dress at Volunteers of America last week and had to have it...$3.99 who could pass it up right? I wasn't sure about the print though..I really liked the style of the dress, but wasn't loving the flowers as much. In the end, I still bought the dress!
On another note, I wanted to share some of my pictures of my hair-loss as well, so that you can see a little better what I am going through everyday..and maybe by sharing my struggles, there is someone else out there to that is struggling with the same thing. I have good days and bad, but lately more bad then good. It is just the fact of hair everywhere in piles everyday that really starts to get to you after awhile. I have nights where I cry a lot, and other times where I think that it is just hair..at least I am not dying etc. I have thrown out lot's of my clothes because I don't think anything looks good on me, and I dread fixing my hair, or looking in a mirror just because I can see all of the loss that I am trying to hide...and I know that it is only going to get worse. I mean I am glad that I can get a wig, but at the end of the night you still have to take it off and be able to see yourself like that, or have someone that you are with look at you like that. I have had a LOT of people tell me that it is just hair, but the thing is until it is YOUR hair it is different, and until you have the piles of hair everywhere..it is different. There are two types of medication that I can take, and I don't see the point in either of them. Rogaine is one, and with this whatever hair you are going to loose will all come out at once, and will take 3-4 months before it will start to regrow your hair. That is a little extream to someone who is already having piles everywhere everyday with what I have it is a slow process, not all at once. Another downfall to this medication is that you have to do it everyday, and once you stop it stops. I asked myself..then what is the point? right?.. The other is Spironolactone. With this medication you have to have your kidneys checked all the time, and it has many other side effects...What is the point of this one?? I mean I would rather be bald then potentially have problems with my kidneys... I think for women we are all about our hair, and it is hard to see it going everyday and having people see your spots when you are 28. Is there anyone else out there struggling with Female pattern hair loss?? If so how are you dealing with it, and what do you do?

  7. Hi Heather I recently lost 25pounds and my hair began falling out along the part line to make it less noticeable I apply eyeshadow in a shade similar to my hair along the part and blend it in. I also began taking Biotin which is a supplement. I am starting to see some regrowth but it's slow.

  14. Love your photos! I really liked this dress. I was prepared for something totally different when I read the intro. Needless to say it looks great on you. definitely an 80's throwback but HEY I loved the 80's! It would have been really cool to have seen you IN the storefront instead of outside of it. But nonetheless, you still picked a really cool background for your set.
    Peace+

  15. Visit another blog. Womens Hair Loss Project. A wonderful young woman runs this blog and it helps to know you are not alone in this struggle. I used Rogaine and it helped lots but the effects have diminished after 7 years. It does help though. I tried Spironolactone saw no effect and quit. Tried Finasteride and after about 9 months not too sure whether it's helping or not. You are not alone in this struggle.
