Inspiration Monday..A Trip To The Past...

Hello there everyone. It is great to see everyone here. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent my weekend hunting for more Halloween things..spending time with the kids..and taking pictures. Do you ever wonder what the "story" is behind your clothing? I was thinking about that the other day when I received my 50's dress. When I do buy vintage items, such as this jacket, or those dresses..I always wonder if someone loved them as much as I do...where they traveled to..if they were a first love moment..what their past is. Do your clothes tell stories? Or do you not care, and when you are done with your items toss them out?

Vintage jacket: $3.99 from Goodwill
Forever 21 tank: $2.50 from Forever 21
J.Jill pants: $3.99 from Goodwill
Charlotte Ruse heels: $8.00 from Plato's Closet
Necklace: $5.99 from Goodwill

Total look: $24.47

And the inspiration...

I love this look..I wish I had tailored pants like that in a nice leather..I love how chic this look is..wish I had these pieces. Her look is way better then mine, but this is what I had to work with.

  2. I love your look. That necklace is so fantastic. I love thrifting too so wonder the same things. I also often associate clothing with the special events or occasions I wore it .. they are definitely part of my story.

  11. I love shopping second hand stores! I dress the way I want now, long skirts or comfortable pants, beautiful colors and soft fabrics. A dash of wild and juicy with most everything. Thanks for sharing your great finds! Visiting from My Froley. Peace to you.

  12. heather, you are rocking that look! it depends on how i feel about an item to whether i wonder about the life it had before me. with many clothes, i assume they got bored, or it doesn't fit them anymore. that's why i get rid of mine. when it's books i treasure, i wonder if they read them, died, or if they got lost, or stolen.

    1. It is amazing the things that we think of, and the stories that items really do have.
